Scratch, scratch. Sorry, dear reader, I’m scratching my head….scratch, scratch. No, I don’t have a bad case of lice (my bold skull is as inviting to the little buggers as the dessert is for a fish). No, I’m wondering what to make of this ‘Distortion+’ EP of the Finnish Giglinger. What is the case? These Fins play a punk version of industrial. No, not in the veins of The Prodigy. It’s more like a mix of Ministry and Filter with a shot of street punk. The four tracks on the EP are solid and wouldn’t be out of place on the soundtrack of a movie like The Crow 3. The strange thing is that the gents don’t do gigs, don’t release albums and so on. Why not? God knows, because this stuff sounds promising. Okay, it isn’t exactly the most innovating thing I have heard recently, but nevertheless… And on the Net there’s also no information around…kind of a mystery, this band. Whatever the case, it’s a shame, because with a track like ‘The Prime Suspect’ as test sample I’m curious about the whole product. (Frank 70/100)
